Corey Piña

Corey Piña is a seasoned banking professional who works as the Business Development Officer at Wintrust
Bank, covering the Westside of Chicago. He is a dedicated advocate for community growth and has played a pivotal
role in opening Wintrust Bank's North Lawndale branch. Corey is actively engaged with the community's youth and
small businesses, championing financial literacy. His aim is to equip businesses with tools for a prosperous future. He
enjoys working with organizations to establish programs that empower young individuals. Some organizations he has
helped include Boxing Out Negativity and Project Impact 180.

Corey was born and raised by his mother in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. He graduated from Uplift
Community High School and studied psychology at Northern Illinois University. He was a member of the Northern
Black Choir and the Black Male Initiative. Unfortunately, he left Northern Illinois University to provide financial and
family support for his mother and younger siblings. Today, Corey is a committed father to his son and has fortunately
taken the path leading him to a career in banking, which he’s grown to love.

Although it is quite large, Wintrust Bank operates as a community bank. Wintrust gives back to the
communities it serves by providing financial literacy, loans to low to moderate-income areas, and participating in the
financing of community development projects. Wintrust has allowed Corey to complete their "Fundamentals of
Leadership" training program that teaches leadership in business, community, and personal life. These Wintrust
qualities are a natural fit for Corey Piña to extend his commitment to community empowerment and business growth
within Firebird Community Arts collaborative framework.
